About Our Alumni Program
Upon completion of addiction treatment at St. Joseph Institute, clients are encouraged to enroll in our alumni program at no additional cost. Our alumni program offers many resources to support clients after they leave, such as weekly aftercare meetings, monthly activities, follow-up calls from our alumni coordinator, and an invitation to our unique “CaredFor” app. The app is designed specifically for the recovery community and is used at all Summit Behavioral Healthcare facilities. It’s easy to use on a computer or smartphone and allows members to post messages and photos, track sobriety time, search recovery tools, stay connected, and receive support from other members of the alumni community as well as staff. Taking advantage of our alumni services can be a key to long-term recovery.

Top 3 Benefits of being an active member in the Alumni Program:
1. Support
Recovery is not meant to be done alone. The main reason we encourage members to stay active in our program is the steady support offered by hundreds of alumni who are successfully maintaining their sobriety. Let’s face it, no one understands an addict like another addict. During our virtual, weekly aftercare groups, you can discuss important topics in recovery with fellow alumni, connect with members and hold each other accountable.
2. Network
We have alumni located all over PA, NY and surrounding states. When you are getting ready to leave treatment, you will meet with the alumni coordinator who can help connect you with other alumni in your area. These alumni members can help be a support, take you to your first meeting, or connect you to locate recovery in your area.
3. Substance Free Activities
Once a month, our Alumni Coordinator hosts an activity/event for our alumni members. These events vary in location are held all over PA and occasionally in NY. The goal of these events is to create a safe place for alumni to enjoy their newfound sobriety, connect with other members and simply have fun! These events are listed in our St. Joe’s App for our members to see and participate in.
St Joseph’s alumni coordinator is available seven days a week to anyone who completes our program. Our coordinator can help clients find meetings, a sponsor, get them connected to other alumni in their area, answer general recovery questions, or just be the person our alumni can relate to as someone else who suffers from the disease of addiction.
