The objective of our professional team is to provide the best possible care for the residents in our treatment for substance abuse program by offering a renowned professional team of highly credentialed individuals with many years of experience in addiction recovery, behavioral health, pain management and the treatment of co-occurring conditions. All of our clinical staff have, at minimum, Master's level degrees.
President and Director of Education Programs: Michael Campbell, MS, APR
Michael is the co-founder of St. Joseph Institute and has
guided its growth over the past eight years as hundreds of people have sought treatment for substance abuse. For 20 years he served as president and CEO of several international consulting firms. Michael has designed and led major programs in support of people with addiction, disabilities and behavioral health problems. Through his companies, he has been involved in hundreds of programs and projects for every type of industry. His charitable work has included community projects, higher education, and building hospitals and orphanages for refugees in war-torn regions. Michael is a frequent speaker, writer and teacher, and leads many of the classes at the Institute. He has a Masters of Science degree in leadership and ethics.
Director of Clinical & Wellness Services: Jenny L. Sheetz, MA, CN, LMT
Jenny is the founder of St. Joseph Institute. She has spent 25
years as a counselor and Holistic Health Practitioner. She oversees the clinical program at the Institute and has developed the recovery education program that is receiving wide recognition for its powerful impact -- helping people change their lives and live in recovery. Jenny has a Masters in Counseling, is a Certified Nutritionist, a licensed massage therapist, and holds certification in many forms of bodywork and holistic healing. Among her areas of specialty are the treatment of chronic pain, abuse, and PTSD. The author of many books, she is now completing a series of study guides and DVDs on addiction treatment, relapse prevention and a Christian approach to healing.
Medical Director: Gregory Famiglio, MD, MBA, ABAM
Dr. Famiglio is extraordinarily qualified with specialization in the treatment of addiction and chronic pain. He is Board Certified in both Addiction Medicine and Anesthesiology. His degrees are from MIT, Jefferson Medical College and the University of Southern Florida. Dr. Famiglio’s Residencies and Fellowships were at Georgetown University Medical Center and Harvard Medical School. During more than 20 years of practice, he has been the medical director and staff physician at several large facilities and an associate professor in all aspects of medicine at Lock Haven University.
Counselor: Christopher Lawrie, MA
Chris began working as a substance abuse counselor in the early 1990s. His experience includes inpatient and outpatient programs, treating both addiction and mental health issues. Among his areas of expertise is the treatment of individuals with a dual-diagnosis. He also has extensive experience with 12-Step programs. Chris has a degree in psychology and a Master of Science degree in counseling from St. Bonaventure University.
Counselor: Tammy Hess, MA
Tammy began working with people struggling with Addiction in 2006. She has served as a counselor in a residential treatment program and as a mental health therapist in a large hospital. Her clinical work has given her a broad base of experience with people facing addiction and mental health issues. Tammy has a degree in Rehabilitation Services and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Waynesburg University.
Counselor: Fred Gass, MA
Fred has years of experience counseling individuals with addiction and co-occurring issues. He focuses on helping people heal in mind and spirit, motivating them to experience life more fully. Fred’s experience includes working at a military hospital’s treatment for substance abuse program, drug and alcohol outpatient clinics and general counseling. He has also served as a Chaplin and support professional in residential programs. Fred holds a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Psychiatric Rehabilitation.
Clinical Supervisor: Sue Patterson, MA, CAC
Sue has committed her career to serving others and helping people find the path to wellness and recovery. She has extensive experience in individual, familiy and marital counseling. Prior to joining the Institute, she was the Program Manager and Clinical Supervisor for a large addiction treatment provider. She has served as counselor and Chaplin in hospices and as the clinical coordinator for a behavioral health facility. Sue has a Master's degree and is a Certified Addiction Counselor
Psychiatrist: Satish Amirneni, MD
Dr. Amirneni has 27 years of experience as a psychiatrist working with addiction and behavioral health concerns. He serves as medical director and staff psychiatrist at several facilities. His practice has included all areas of psychiatry and addiction treatment. Dr. Amirneni has extensive training, including postgraduate residencies at St. Louis University School of Medicine and hospitals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Physical Therapist: Bill Hanlon, PT, DPT, MSPT, OCS
Dr. Hanlon is a licensed Physical Therapist and board
certified orthopedic clinical specialist with extensive coursework and 25 years of clinical experience in relieving pain through manual therapy and exercise. He is an Associate Professor of Physical Therapy at St. Francis University. As a licensed Physical Therapist, Dr. Hanlon has had extensive experience treating Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, cardiac and pulmonary problems (including Asthma), musculoskeletal injuries, SI dysfunction, Piriformis Syndrome, chronic pain, rotator cuff problems, knee problems, foot problems and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.
